Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
1/2 C

1 1/2 C

sugar

eggs (unbeaten)

sifted cake flour

1/2 t

salt
|
1 C

sour milk or buttermilk
|
1 t

vanilla
|

squares bitter chocolate
|
1 t

soda
|
1 T
|
vinegar
|
Preparation
- Cream
butter, add sugar gradually.
- Add
one egg unbeaten, beat thoroughly.
- Add second egg and continue beating.
- Alternately add flour and salt sifted together and the sour milk
to which vanilla has been added.
- Melt
chocolate over hot water, add and beat thoroughly.
- Dissolve soda in vinegar and add last.
- Pour into 2 greased 8" cake pans and bake in 350 degree
oven for 25 - 30 minutes.
