One Egg Cake

Grandma New's recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 C	Softasilk flour
1 C	sugar
2 t	baking powder
1/2 t	salt
1/3 C	shortening
2/3 C	milk
1 t	vanilla
1	egg

Preparation

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 
2. Grease and flour 8" square pan. 
3. Sift dry ingredients. 
4. Add shortening, milk, flavoring. 
5. Beat 2 min. 
6. Add egg. 
7. Beat 2 more min. 
8. Pour into pans. 
9. Bake 30 - 35 min. 
10. Frost with Quick-As-A-Wink Chocolate Frosting or use Sweet Gravy or Cottage pudding.
