Almond Roca

Ingredients

1C Almond Slices
1 lb butter (has to be salted)
2C Sugar
8 oz 1 large Chocolate bar (Hershey's is good)

Preparation

(process takes about 20 to 25 minutes to make and then 1 day to set)
  1. Spread almonds on a large cookie sheet.
  2. Put butter and sugar in a pan and cook on high until it starts to boil
  3. Turn heat to medium and continue to stir
  4. The mixture will get thick and then the butter will separate and then later the butter will come back into the mixture
  5. When the butter is no longer separated, remove the mixture from the heat and pour it over the almonds. Spread evenly over the almonds.
  6. Break the chocolate bar into small pieces and lay over the butter mixture and let soften. 

  7. Spread the chocolate after it has softened (melted).
  8. Let cool in pan for 1 full day
  9. Break into pieces and enjoy
