Goumpki (Gotabki)
Grammy's original recipe with a little help
from a Polish cookbook. I remember eating this as a kid in Hudson, on the farm, and all the way growing up. Marlene (Mom) added Rotel Tomatoes & green chilies later -- (yum)

Cabbage (4 lbs) |

Cooked Rice (cook in salted water) |

Egg (beaten) |

Onion (Chopped) |

Soup Ingredients |
2 (10oz cans) |
Campbell's Condenced Tomato Soup
Two 10 ounce cans of soup with 2 cans of water added

Water as directed on soup can |

Carrots (or so) |

bay leaves |

onion (quartered or sliced) |
1 can |
Rotel Tomatoes |

Green chilies (optional) |
Preparation
- Cut core out of cabbage and put cabbage upside
down in covered pan with about 1 to 2" of water and 1 t salt
- Steam cabbage for 15 minutes or until leaves are
soft enough to roll hamburger up in it.
- Cook rice separately
- In large soup pan mix soup ingredients
- In a separate pan mix hamburger, rice, egg, onion, salt & pepper.
- Use hamburger mixture as filling for each cabbage leaf. Roll up and place in soup
mixture.
- Then cook for another hour or 1.5 hours on low or until the hamburger is cooked
