Turkey Dressing

Marlene's delicious recipe is the only dressing the family will eat

Ingredients

2 big loaves heavy bread cut into cubes
1 pkg celery chopped
salt & pepper  to taste
4 T poultry seasoning
2 small cans mushrooms (including juice)
1-1/2 to 2 C milk
2 big onions
1 C butter

Preparation

  1. Saut 2 onions and celery in butter. 
  2. Mix all ingredients in large bowl.  Dressing should be fairly moist - add more milk if necessary.
  3. Stuff dressing into Turkey and this will make enough extra to put into crock-pot.  Optionally add a slice of butter or two as it cooks.
  4. Take some of the turkey juice and put it over the dressing at least one time.  You can do this after the turkey has been cooking for a little while.. This will add good Turkey flavor to the dressing.
  5. Cook in crock pot on LOW.  (all day or all morning until you ready to eat).  Feel free to snack until the turkey is done.  The "grand kids" will love the snacking part.
