Harvard Beets
Ingredients
1/2 C
sugar
1 1/2 t
cornstarch
1/4 C
vinegar
1/4 C
water
2 C
beets (sliced and cooked)
Preparation
Mix sugar and cornstarch.
Add vinegar and water.
Cook until thickened and add beets and let stand over low heat for several minutes. (Cooked carrots can be used the same way. Both are good seasoned with a little butter.)
